I am a 1st year Ph.D. student working with Dr. Robin Burke. My research focuses on news recommendation systems, and I am looking into exploring the bigger question of how journalistic voices can be manifested in news recommender systems. I aspire to develop a recommendation framework that not only optimizes personalization and relevance but also upholds the democratic principles and ethical standards essential for the media ecosystem.

recommender community infrastructure to support research in personalization and recommender systems.
- Developing a baseline model to implement viewpoint Diversity in News Recommendation.
- Journalist-Oriented Interfaces for News Recommendation (JOINR) - Researching a multi-stakeholder
approach that
restores the journalistic voice to news recommendation.
- Algorithmic Fairness - Assisting in conducting studies among various focus groups to understand fairness
